About Late Mr. Abdul Rasheed

The business started out as a simple small business in 1950’s. Late Abdul Rasheed initiated his carpentry business, Rasheed Carpentry at his residence, M. Seenukarankaage. Back then, the business was all about crafting and building styled furniture, while working on a few other smaller areas like crafting doors and working on domestic roofing projects. Over the years, the company transformed into one of the most respected general contracting companies in the Maldives and has proved the ability to take on large and complex projects to be completed on time, on budget and at the highest levels of quality.
Abdul Rasheed was always conscious on delivering quality products and services, and supervises the workforce and sites personally. The company implements multifaceted systems and procedures to ensure control over cost, quality, schedule, scope, and safety, ensuring the highest degree of professional service and results on all projects undertaken.
In acknowledgement of the innumerable ways he has contributed to the success of the industry and the country, he was officially awarded with the prestigious Gold 100 Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 2020. His son received the award on behalf of Late Abdul Rasheed.

Late Abdul Rasheed (1st December 1936 – 17 February 2020) was a Maldivian industrialist, entrepreneur and chairman of RCC Group.
Late Abdul Raaheed was born on 1936 to a Maldivian family in Thaa Kandoodhoo. He was the youngest child of well known carpenter Sulaiman.
His father was among the pioneer woodwork specialists in Maldives who were invited to settle in Male by the government due to their knowledge in the field. He had three elder sisters and two elder brothers.
His sister's son, Nephew Ibrahim Rasheed has been the partner at RCC Group and runs the business along with his eldest son Mohamed Nazim as the Chairman of the Group.
Late Abdul Rasheed has ten children (seven sons and three daughters) to his wife Aishath Moosa, and sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
His eldest son Col. Retired Mohamed Nazim, was the former Defense Minister and Current Member of Parliament for Dhangethi Constituency apart from being the Chairman of RCC Group and Managing Director at Abdul Rasheed & Family Pvt Ltd.
While the second son Adam Azim has filled many promising positions in state owned enterprises including being the Managing Director of State Trading Organization, Managing Director of Maldives Water and Sewerage Company and recently as the Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company. Adam Azim is the present Mayor of Male’ City.
The eldest daughter Fathmath Asima have been working at Maldives Customs Services in a senior position for over 25 years.
Son Ibrahim Sharaf works in Logistics and Operations and Hussain Azneem at the trading segment of family owned RCC Private Limited.
Son Captain Ahmed Alim works for the Maldives National Defence Force and holds a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and serves as a Director of RCC Group.
Second Daughter Aminath Shiyana worked in Banking Sector for over a decade and now as a Director of Abdul Rasheed & Family Private Limited.
While Mariyam Niuma is a Director at RCC Group and she owns and operate her own business in the name of The Trading Company Pvt Ltd.
Ali Azuham works in the Logistics sector for over a decade at Lily Enterprises and also serves as a Director of Abdul Rasheed & Family Pvt Ltd.
The Youngest son Moosa Izumeel owns the sound and lights company Unica Pvt Ltd and he is among the directors at Abdul Rasheed and Family Pvt Ltd.
